The wedding season is almost here, and now that we’ve celebrated the Day Of Love (aka Valentine’s Day) it’s time to talk about this year’s bridal beauty trends. So I thought I’ll put together a handy list about the TOP 5 directions in 2017 to help future brides decide about their perfect look for the big day.
This is my favourite part of the year and usually the most busiest too, preparing for the wedding season, overwhelmed with bridal makeup trials and calls from bridesmaids looking for beauty advices. Bridal beauty is something eternal, it never changes drastically, because when you get married the goal is not to look completely different, but to look as your best, enhanced version. When a couple of years later you are looking at your wedding photos, you don’t want to see a stranger on those pictures, you want to see yourself, a happy and beautiful You.
In case you are getting married soon, I recommend that you take a look at my previous article about: How To Avoid The Most Common Bridal Beauty Mistakes!
Real Fresh Flower Elements In Hair
We saw that a lot on the bridal catwalks (for example at Marchesa or Theia), from flower crowns to flower boosted earrings, floral accessories were all over the place. The key is that they are REAL, so no playing around with fake plastic flowers this year.
When it comes to a wedding the nail trends are always lean towards the light, nude shades and the only “option” to stand out is the decoration of the nails. This year pearl is going to be the queen of all bridal nail art, just as we’ve seen it at Reem Acra’s.
One colour or a subtle smokey eye, the point is to have it in brown. Rather than the good old white/silver, or gold eyeshadows, this year is all about natural, soft browns. I recommend my favourite brown eyeshadow the Kjaer Weis Grace.
Pink lips were all over the bridal catwalks; we saw them at Carolina Herrera, Sachin & Babi, Christos, Ines Di Santo and the list goes on. You can play around with the shades, just make sure the one you’ll pick for the big day is in the pink range and it’s matches to your features!
Brows Full & Natural
Super thin and tattooed brows are a thing of the past (Thank God!), and it’s time to embrace what mother nature gave to us. The shape is crucial (a great brow defines your face, while a bad one ….) and the bolder the better. So if you have eyebrows like Lily Collins, be proud of them!
