During the holiday season we have plenty of chances to play around with glamorous makeup looks. So I brought you a very festive tutorial that shows some idea what to wear -makeup wise- under the Christmas tree.
This goldy, soft smokey eye goes well with nude lips or with a more bold lipgloss, pick your favourite and shine bright during the holiday!
1, As usual, start with moisturizing your face and hydrate your lips. During winter it’s especially important to keep your skin balanced, so never skip the prep-n-prime step!
2, I applied BB cream (Benefit’s Big N Easy) with a damp beautyblender to get a very light and smooth coverage. I used Make Up For Ever’s camouflage cream palette (for light complexion) to cover my dark circles and other imperfections. I fixed the look with Ben-Nye’s Banana Powder.
3, I filled in the gaps in my eyebrow using the Guerlain Eyebrow kit, and applied an eyeshadow primer (Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in shade: Greed)
4, To create the soft smokey base, use MAC Brule all over your lid, add a little tap of the darkest shade (MAC Brun) on the outer corners, and then apply the sparkly bronze shade (MAC Woodwinked) on the center of your lid then softly blend it together.
5, To give an extra Christmas glam to your look apply some gold glitter (I used Make Up For Ever’s Metal Powder in shade 3 Honey Gold) very lightly on the center of your lids. Make sure to use it just to highlight that area and do not cover the whole lid with that. To keep the look subtle, go for a dark brown eyeliner (UNE Smoky Eyeliner) rather than the regular black one.
6, Add your favourite bronzer and mascara to the look. I used No7 Perfectly Bronzed Mosaic Bronzer that has a bit of pink in it as well, and my new favourite mascara Urban Decay’s Perversion.
And now it’s your decision: you can go to a very feminine nude lip combo with a nude lipliner (Too Faced Perfect Lips lipliner in shade Perfect Nude) and a sparkly but transparent lip gloss (Bourjois 3D effect shade 60). Contour your lips and fill them with the same colour then add the gloss on the top.
Or you can go for a more festive, bolder lip look with this dark raspberry combination. Use a red lipliner (MAC Cherry) then mix a dark pink lipgloss (No7 BB Lips in shade: Berry Rose) and a sparkly silvery gloss (Illamasqua Sheer Lipgloss in shade: Opulent) on the back of your hand and apply it on the top of the red lipliner.
